Comparing the Inuit-inhabited areas to the rest of Canada, risk ratios were 1.5 for preterm birth, 1.7 for stillbirth, and 3.6 for infant mortality. The risk ratios and risk differences did not diminish over time and substantial excess mortality was observed for all major causes of infant death.
